O'Neill's Leytonstone focuses on sustainability

The UK is on a mission to hit its net zero carbon emissions target by 2050 and O'Neill's Leytonstone is helping do our bit to help turn this vision into reality.

We’ve recently taken a look at our carbon footprint and come with a plan for how we can be more sustainable in everything we do.

We’ve made lots of great progress to date, but recognise there’s lots of other things we can and are doing. Overall, we’ve been making lots of small, but important sustainability-focused changes, as well as making sure we’re still the place you can come to for all the craic and good food and drinks.

Our parent company Mitchell's & Butlers has established a series of directives that will add up to big improvements over the coming years.

Our sustainability plan means we’re focused on:

o Net Zero Greenhouse Gas emissions by 2040 (scope 1,2 and 3)

o Achieving zero waste to landfill by 2030

o Reducing food waste by 50% by 2030

o We work with Fareshare to redistribute surplus food to communities who need it

o Our pub is powered with 100% renewable electricity

o 96% of our operational waste is diverted from landfill

o O’Neill’s are founding members of the Zero Carbon Forum and are committed to reducing our emissions and developing a road-map to Net Zero
